    General Motors Fort Wayne Assembly Return to work Start Times:


    Fort Wayne Assembly will begin regular operations on Monday, July 13, 2009.

    The specific departmental call back dates and times are as follows:

    All Third shift Maintenance employees will report at their regular start times on Sunday, July 12.

    All First and Second shift Maintenance employees will report at their regular start times on Monday, July 13.

    All First and Second shift Body and Paint production employees will report at their regular start times on Monday, July 13.

    All First and Second Shift Trim, Chassis, Final, and Final repair employees will report at their regular start times on Wednesday, July 15.

    All Material and Quality employees will report when the departments they are supporting report.

    Any employees who are needed at different times than those communicated earlier in this message will be contacted directly by their Group Leader.

    Allen County Commissioners approve the Tax Abatement 7-0.

    General Motors Allen County truck plant is in line for a $46 million upgrade an apparent side effect of the company's recent decision to close 14 plants as part of its reorganization under federal bankruptcy laws.  A number of pieces still need to fall into place, but this is potentially very good news for Allen County and FWA.

    ALL Benefits Representatives will be at the Union Hall Local 2209 Monday, through Friday, starting Monday, June 15th, at 7:00 am. Unemployment will continue to be filed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
